Oswestry Climate Action Hub based at 36 Bailey Street, was started in early 2024 to help each other live more sustainably, create community and build resilience against climate change through local initiatives centred around making, sharing, growing and repairing.
Many groups and events take place there including a repair cafe on Wednesdays, a youth hangout after school on Fridays, monthly plant and clothes swaps, a brew club, sign language group, film nights, and meditation among others.
Everyone is welcome to drop in and share in this non-profit, community space. Feel free to browse our resources, use the art materials, borrow a book, take part in an organised activity, get information about local initiatives, or just come in for a sit down, a chat and a cuppa. At present the Hub is open Wednesday and Saturday from 10am.
At 15 Bailey Street, we also run the Share Shack for donating and receiving good quality items. Take away what you need, bring back want you no longer want. In this way stuff doesn’t get sent to landfill, you consume less and save money! The shack is open Wednesday and Saturdays 10am -12pm.
The two spaces are completely volunteer run but we need more people to come forward to share in the running of these. We would love to open more frequently but more volunteers are needed to do this. If you feel this is something you would be interested in please contact : oswestrycec@gmail.com
Help us to build a positive and inclusive community, open to all, through learning from each other and sharing our skills. Climate change will bring many future challenges. Will we be ready? Please join us.
