Following the success of their initial two-year programme, Oswestry Community Action (Qube) are delighted to have been given funding from the Shropshire Council to allow them to extend their Digital Skills Programme for another year.

Digital inclusion and digital literacy are more essential in today’s world than ever before. So many everyday services we require, such as utilities and banking are moving online, as are job and training opportunities and connecting with loved ones.

By providing this invaluable and free service, we’re supporting digital inclusion, educating people of all ages and abilities to use online and digital services where they may lack online access or have low skills or confidence. Other benefits include saving money, reducing loneliness and isolation, increasing skills and knowledge, and even increasing employability skills.

Chief Officer at Oswestry Community Action, Kim Wootton says, “We’re delighted to continue delivering our digital skills programme to individuals across North Shropshire. Promoting digital inclusion in our rural communities is vital, and through our involvement, we’re helping people build confidence in getting online. Our Digital Skills Trainer, Bee, brings a patient and supportive approach that makes the learning journey accessible and enjoyable for all.”

If you or someone you may know can benefit from using this programme, you can find out more about the programme by calling 01691 656882 or by popping into Qube and speaking with Bee.
