Our twelfth Oswestry Community Games organisation is already putting things in place and getting ready for Guest of Honour Kelda Wood MBE and entertainment from the Bartells. Last year’s Games involved over 30 local organisations contributing to the activities with around 1000 people of all ages taking part. Oswestry Lions has worked in our local area since it was formed in 1974, and has supported many local organisations and individuals over the years. James Manford, Lead Organiser says, “We are delighted that the Town Council has again given us free use of Cae Glas Park and with our progress on putting this year’s Games together. Our guest of honour this year will be Shropshire’s Kelda Wood whose chosen charity to raise funds for on the day is “Climbing Out”. This provides fully funded 5-day outdoor activity programmes aimed at rebuilding confidence, self-esteem and motivation for people facing life-changing injury, illness or trauma.”
Clubs and organisations who took part in 2024 have again been invited to take part and we are delighted that the acceptance list is growing on a daily basis.
