The sixth annual Oswestry Community Games is set to take place on 23 September in Cae Glas Park from 11am to 3.45pm. It promises to be yet another successful day in the park with sport, music, arts and dance from local groups all providing free activities.
Special guest on the day will be Di Carrington who was part of the all-female crew to take on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, where she claimed three world records. Rowing 3,000 miles from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, the journey took 60 days, 18 hours and 34 minutes, with the crew contending with 40 ft waves, chronic sleep deprivation and strong winds.
Di said: “I am honoured and delighted to be involved and part of this special day. It will be an absolute privilege to attend the Oswestry Community Games, and I very much look forward to contributing towards making the Games another success.”
