Chloe Elizabeth Dance Company (CEDC) is celebrating an outstanding weekend of success after 13 of its talented dancers travelled to Liverpool to compete in the prestigious UK Showzone competitions.

Dancers aged 9 to 15 performed an impressive range of solos, duos, and team routines across multiple dance styles, demonstrating exceptional versatility, dedication, and passion for their craft.

CEDC achieved remarkable results, with both of its contemporary teams securing 1st and 2nd place, a significant accomplishment in a competition known for its high standard and strong national talent.

Dance teacher Miss Harley praised the group’s achievements, saying:
“Watching these dancers grow in confidence, passion and artistry is truly special. They support one another like family, and seeing them shine on stage makes me incredibly proud every single time.”

The competition featured over 250 dancers, with an exceptionally high level of talent throughout. Despite this, many of CEDC’s Oswestry-based dancers achieved top awards.

A standout performance came from Maisie Firkins, who not only won her age category in street dance but also placed 3rd overall across the entire competition, earning one of the highest scores of the weekend.

The success highlights the growing strength of the dance community in Oswestry, with local dancers competing at the same level as performers from major cities across the UK.

CEDC continues to provide opportunities for young dancers to progress, offering pathways into competitive performance and professional dance careers, while fostering a supportive and inspiring environment.

CEDC is currently welcoming new students.
