Oswestry Golf Club ladies section held their annual presentation evening on the 2nd November and as has become the norm the event was incredibly well supported with 92 lady members attending
The Halloween theme continued over from the Night Golf event and the ladies all looked fabulous in their cocktail dresses & frocks.
Marie Male (Lady Captain) was on hand to dish out the prizes and trophies (as well as picking a couple up herself). In total there were 24 club trophies handed out on the night and an additional 2 county prizes handed over.
On the County front Sarah Williams picked up both the Wynne Corrie Cup & Marjorie Wycherley Trophy. Additionally the Ladies scratch league team reached the final of the County Ladies Scratch Competition
On the club front there was a fantastic mix of experience and youth collecting prizes with Evie Allen picking up the Juniors Jackson Bowl trophy.
Carrying on her near domination of the Ladies Club Championship Gemma Thornell once again engraved her name on the trophy, this one for the 13th time. Gemma pictured here collecting the trophy from the Lady Captain, had the daunting task of facing her mother Judith Thornell in the final (a first for Oswestry Golf Club).
Marie Male had this to say ‘The Ladies section continues to have great support and the camaraderie and spirit within the ladies section is great to see. I’ve had a fantastic year as their captain and it was a joy to see so many people at the awards dinner. We are also so pleased to see new faces joining us and integrating themselves so quickly, long may it continue, Thank You Ladies’
