This year’s tractor run will feature a special pink tractor to remember local Ellesmere girl Ella McCreadie, who sadly passed away at the age of 13.

Ella was a loving big sister to her brothers, Shay and Niall, and a cherished daughter to Sophie and Alastair. She was a vibrant, active teenager who loved riding her horse, Bliss, and spending time with her wide circle of friends. Tragically, Ella was found to have an undiagnosed high-grade diffuse glioma, an aggressive brain tumor that claimed her young life.

Spokesman Mike Lade said:
“The run is being organised with the Whittington and Oswestry Young Farmers Club in memory of Will Roberts of Pennant Farm, Gobowen. Will, affectionately known as ‘Choc,’ also lost his life to a brain tumor. Brain tumors are indiscriminate, affecting people of all ages, and they kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer. Yet only 1% of the national cancer research budget has been allocated to this devastating disease since 2002. Please support us in raising funds to research these awful illnesses.”

If you wish to support the run and the Lingen Davies Cancer Charity in Shrewsbury, cash donations can be given to our easily identifiable bucket collectors in Oswestry and surrounding villages. Each bucket will include a QR code for direct donations via mobile. You can also donate at your convenience through our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/oswestryilluminatedtractorrun.
