April marks the launch of Oswestry Life’s first podcast, a celebration of the town’s uplifting stories and positive community spirit. This new audio venture promises to capture the essence of Oswestry, delivering heart-warming content directly to listeners.

The debut series, comprising three episodes, embraces the theme of spring. Listeners can look forward to insightful discussions on health and wellbeing, the awakening of nature, and the exciting new developments shaping the town.

Plus, the podcast team took to the streets in February, capturing authentic voices and spontaneous reflections from Oswestrians, asking them what puts a spring in their step.

As we leave winter behind, one episode features local health experts offering practical advice on revitalising after the colder months. Another episode delves into the natural world, with farmers and gardeners sharing their knowledge of the blossoming flora and fauna. A final episode spotlights the town’s fresh initiatives and businesses.

As if that wasn’t enough, the podcast will feature interviews with the deserving winners of the recent Oswestry Local Hero Awards, showcasing the remarkable contributions of community champions.

Ruth Martin of Martin & Jones Marketing, a member of the podcast team remarked, “Despite a dreary February day, the enthusiasm we encountered was overwhelming. People were eager to share their experiences and what they love about Oswestry. It was truly inspiring.”

David Lee-Birch, co-owner of Oswestry Life magazine added, “We’re privileged to hear so many incredible stories, but magazine space is limited. The podcast allows us to amplify these voices and share even more good news.”

Oswestry Life magazine has partnered with seasoned podcast producer Charlotte Foster, whose BBC background and local podcast expertise brings invaluable experience to the project. “Podcasts are a powerful medium for capturing a town’s personality,” Foster explained. “The real magic lies in hearing directly from the people. There are countless remarkable stories waiting to be told.”

The first series is generously sponsored by Kim Cleminson-Jones at KC Accountancy Services. Kim expressed, “I immediately wanted to support this project. We need more positive stories, and I want to share my pride in Oswestry with everyone.”

The Oswestry Life Podcast team is already planning their next series, scheduled for release in the summer. They encourage anyone with a positive Oswestry story to get in touch, or businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities.
