In this extraordinary year, members of the Oswestry Rotary Club Council (seen here on Zoom) heard recently that their Annual Tree of Light Appeal 2020 had raised the terrific amount of £3,402!
This is a fantastic effort under the Covid 19 restrictions that prevented Club members from getting out and meeting the public.
£500 will be donated to each of the charities below with the balance being retained to support other good causes who may need the support of the Club this year.
Hope House, The Movement Centre, The Harry Johnson Trust, Oswestry & Borders Foodbank, Oswestry Young Carers and Oswestry Stroke Club will each receive £500 thanks to the Appeal’s loyal individual sponsors who, together with the incredible business supporters listed below, donate to this cause each year and without whose help the Appeal just would not happen.
Business Sponsors this year were David Davies & Sons, Starbuck on Management, Bowen Son & Watson, Lloyds Animal Feeds, John Osman Groundcare, DRE Accountants, Dairi-Pak, Eric Roberts (Butcher), Morris Cook Accountants, Woodhead (Oswestry) Sales & Lettings, Gillhams Deli, Lanyon Bowdler, Oswestry Town Council – Tree & Lights, Square One Cafe Bar – Tree Banner and Oswestry Life – Magazine Coverage.
The Appeal’s Book of Remembrance will be kept in Oswestry Library.
