Oswestry & the Borders Pickleball are proud to announce the success of their new Pickled Ladies sessions, a welcoming and inclusive initiative designed to encourage more women to take up pickleball in a supportive and social environment.

Throughout October, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Pickled Ladies dedicated their first month of play to raising awareness and funds for this vital cause. Thanks to the generosity of players and the invaluable support of Oswestry Leisure Centre, an impressive total of £684.50 was raised.

Photographs from the event capture the enthusiasm and community spirit of the participants. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who donated, joined the sessions, or contributed in any way to the campaign’s success. The initiative reflects the strong sense of friendship, compassion, and teamwork that pickleball fosters among its players.

“At Oswestry & the Borders Pickleball, we’re committed to growing and promoting pickleball across our region,” said Julia Jones. “We believe sport has the power to unite people, build confidence, and make a positive difference in our community.”

Oswestry & the Borders Pickleball continues to welcome new members of all abilities, with a mission to inspire participation and connection through this fast-growing sport — while giving back to the community that supports it.
