Oswestry Town Council is now seeking feedback from residents, community groups and users of Central Car Park on three key design options following a detailed assessment of the key town centre facility by engineering consultants appointed by the council.
This consultation follows a commitment by elected members to undertake a study and assessment with respect to the layout and operational aspects of the Central Car Park and following a petition brought to the Council.
Elected members also made a commitment to consult with the public. As a result, engineering consultants were commissioned by Oswestry Town Council to review the existing layout and arrangements of the car park and present a report on their findings.
The community now have opportunity to view the details of the three design options, which will be available to consider in the Guildhall reception area at Oswestry Town Council, Guildhall, Bailey Head. The Mayor of Oswestry, Councillor Mark Jones said “the Central Car Park is a very important facility in the heart of the town, and we are keen to ensure that it remains so.
“We hope that the community will take a look at the information and consider the three options put to us.”
The information will be available to view from afternoon of the 25th of April until the 13th of May at the Guildhall and information can also be obtained on the Town Council’s website during this time at http://www.oswestry-tc.gov.uk/
Response forms will be available at the Town Council, enabling residents to provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the options put forward and will help to inform a decision by the council on the best way forward taking into account the scale of investment that will be needed on the car park.
Consultation is open from the end of April – 25th of April to the 13th of May and we would love to hear resident views on the options available. If you are stakeholder group in the town and would like to discuss directly or to arrange a meeting during the consultation timeframe, please contact Oswestry Town Council on the first instance on 01691 680222 and you will be directed to a member of the team.
