Oswestry u3a is proud to announce that it has reached a significant milestone, welcoming its 300th member into the group.

This achievement marks continued growth and enthusiasm for lifelong learning and social engagement among retired and semi-retired people in the local community.

The u3a (University of the Third Age) is a nationwide movement that provides opportunities for people no longer in full-time employment to come together and continue their educational, social, and creative interests. With no formal qualifications required, the u3a encourages a friendly, informal approach to learning through interest groups, talks, and activities led by members for members.

Oswestry u3a offers a wide range of interest groups covering topics such as history, languages, science, literature, art, walking, and music. Regular meetings and social events also provide members with the chance to make new friends and stay active in both mind and body.

Chair of Oswestry u3a, Steve Watts, commented: “Reaching 300 members is a fantastic milestone for us. It reflects the strong community spirit and the desire for lifelong learning that our members share. We welcome anyone who wants to explore new interests, meet like-minded people, and enjoy a rewarding social life.”

New members are always welcome. Anyone interested in joining Oswestry u3a or learning more about its activities can visit:  www.oswestry.u3asite.uk
