A local law firm has reported a massive increase in the number of people wanting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) drawn up to protect their wishes, their assets and their families in the event that they are faced with a worse-case scenario during the Coronavirus pandemic.

GHP Legal, which has offices in Wrexham, Chirk, Oswestry and Llangollen, says staff are working flat out to accommodate the surge in Wills and LPA requests and deal with things as safely, quickly and efficiently as possible.

Richard Lloyd, Senior Partner of the Legal 500 rated firm which celebrates its 50th anniversary next month, said today: “As well as servicing clients’ in a timely manner, we are also keeping their safety at the forefront of our minds. This includes limiting physical contact, both for clients and other visitors.

“Client instructions are currently being taken over the phone and meetings are being conducted in the same way. In addition, we are ensuring that all documents delivered to our offices are posted through the letterbox rather than being handed into reception.

“Whilst it may take a little longer for us to answer the telephone, we hope that people will understand the new ‘modus operandi’ is for the benefit of all concerned and that they will bear with us.”
