Moreton First parents were in for a linguistic treat when they returned to the classroom for a course in Chinese.

The classes, organised by Moreton First Language teacher Raymond Rhodes, offer an introduction to the Chinese language. It is hoped that parents who are taking advantage of this opportunity will benefit from being able to express themselves in a range of contexts on an elementary level.

Raymond Rhodes said, “With demand on the increase to learn Mandarin and enrich one’s understanding of Chinese culture, we decided to offer Chinese classes to the Moreton First parents.

“The parents are relishing the challenge of engaging in this process, and are gaining in confidence with their communication skills.

The advantages of learning Mandarin are clear for all to see especially with the Chinese economy continuing to increase and further opportunities for careers and jobs emerging as a result.

Headteacher Mrs Ford who is taking time out of her busy timetable to join the sessions states, “This is a tremendous opportunity to test myself on a language that has always intrigued me.”
