The Pen-Y-Dyffryn Hotel, situated near Oswestry, has been officially recognised as Best Hotel in the Midlands at the 2026 César Awards, presented by The Good Hotel Guide.
Tommy Hunter of Pen-Y-Dyffryn said:
“This award belongs to every guest who has walked through our doors and every team member who pours their heart into making Pen-Y-Dyffryn feel like home. From cosy corners and garden views to warm welcomes and memorable stays, this recognition reflects the very heart of what we do.”
In addition to the prestigious Best Hotel award, Pen-Y-Dyffryn also received The Editor’s Choice Award for Hotels for Walkers, celebrating the hotel’s dedication to providing exceptional experiences for guests who love exploring the surrounding Shropshire countryside.
The awards ceremony, part of The Good Hotel Guide Live event, was hosted by acclaimed hotelier and television personality Alex Polizzi of Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector.
Tommy Hunter added:
“We’re also thrilled for our sister property, The Castle Hotel in Bishop’s Castle, which won Dog-Friendly Hotel of the Year. It’s a real family celebration, and we couldn’t be prouder to share these moments together.”
The 2026 edition of The Good Hotel Guide, featuring more than 700 independently selected hotels, inns, and B&Bs, is now available online.
