International Festival & Summer School PIANO WEEK will have its inaugural Easter edition at Moreton Hall School between 25th March and 1st April 2018. Following on from the success of the ever popular summer residencies held at the school in 2016 and 2017, the festival directors are thrilled to announce that the seven-strong faculty of international concert pianists and pedagogues will be giving daily evening recitals at the school’s Musgrave Theatre at 7pm. Tickets for all performances will soon be available for purchase directly on the festival’s website (www.pianoweek.com/concerts) and you will also have a chance to gain last-minute admission on the door. An impressive list of performers includes both festival directors Samantha Ward (UK) and Maciej Raginia (Poland) as well as many other award-winning concert pianists and pedagogues: Roberto Russo (Italy), Sam Armstrong (UK), Mark Nixon (South Africa), Madalina Rusu (Romania) and Alexander Karpeyev (Russia).

For those who have not yet heard of PIANO WEEK since its arrival in Shropshire two years ago, this is a chance to experience classical music of the highest calibre right on your doorstep. With eight residencies in the UK, Italy, Germany, China and Thailand in 2018,this UK-born touring classical music enterprise is en route to become one of the major household names amongst piano festivals in the country and overseas. Since its launch in 2013, PIANO WEEK has welcomed numerous eminent names such as Stephen Kovacevich, Leon McCawley, Chenyin Li and David Fung as its guest artists, which is a tribute to its cultural wealth.

The course part of PIANO WEEK, which runs simultaneously to the festival, is open to participants of any age and ability and forms an intensive programme of master classes, performances and one-to-one lessons, offering pianists an opportunity to study with a distinguished international faculty of concert artists, pedagogues and educators who hail from around the world. Applications for PIANOWEEK’s summer course at Moreton Hall (22nd – 5th August 2018) are now open, as well as those for our residencies in Foligno, Italy (15th – 22nd July 2018) and Sankt Goar, Germany (5th – 12th August 2018).
