The planning application for the Oswestry Innovation Park is to be submitted today.

The application is in the form of a hybrid approach, seeking full planning permission for the access road within the site and accompanying infrastructure, and outline permission for the future phased development of the plots with all matters reserved.

This approach will enable works to be undertaken to divert utilities and make connections into the OIP site as part of the planned road improvements, facilitated through funding received from the Housing Infrastructure Fund and Marches Local Enterprise Partnership.

The proposals for the Oswestry Innovation Park have been developed to meet local demand for grow-on space to stem the outflow of indigenous businesses out of the local area. The refreshed illustrative masterplan for the site suggests a phased development of the plots and mix of business use, however the council will be adopting a flexible approach to the development of the site to respond to market demand.
