Local charity, The Movement Centre, has an exciting trail running festival taking place at Brynkinalt Estate, on the outskirts of Chirk, on Sunday June 14th. Runners are encouraged to sign up before early bird entries close on Friday 13th March, with prices starting at just £12.95.

Brynkinalt Running Festival is a great event for runners of all abilities. The event consists of three races. There will be a 5km, 10km and 20km race and runners will experience a variety of terrains with fields, forest tracks and some gradients too.

“We are really excited to take over this fantastic running festival, from the previous organisers, Up Hill Down Dale, who generously gifted us the race. We are grateful to Brynkinalt Estate for allowing us to use their wonderful grounds for this event. It is a truly fantastic venue,” said Curtis Langley, Fundraising and Marketing Officer at The Movement Centre. “As a runner I know how tough this winter has been, but by booking a place participants can look forward to dusting off their running shoes and getting the chance to explore this beautiful venue.”

Located on the Welsh/Shropshire border, Brynkinalt Estate is a private estate, which cannot be run at any other time. It is home to an impressive Grade II * listed Jacobean mansion, which has been the ancestral home of the Trevor family since 942. The event centre provides a great family day out, in beautiful surroundings, for both competitors and spectators, with food and drinks available, children’s activities and race commentary all at the start /finish line located in the grounds. Spectators will have a great view of the starters and finishers on the day.

The festival will raise vital funds for The Movement Centre, who are a charity based in Oswestry. They provide a specialist therapy to help children with movement disabilities to gain control of their movement and become far more independent. This can be life changing for them and their families.

The Movement Centre is also seeking sponsors for the event. “We are delighted to have the support of Oswestry Olympians and Perspective Wealth Management,” said Curtis Langley. “We do have a number of exciting sponsorship packages in place for local businesses, which can include running places, so it’s a great opportunity for local businesses to get involved!”
