An Open Evening at Wrexham Glyndwr University is set to take place next week – offering attendees the chance to discover how a postgraduate qualification can boost their career.

The university’s latest Postgraduate Open Evening runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Wednesday, October 2.

Based in the recently-upgraded SCALE-UP rooms at the university’s Plas Coch campus in Wrexham, the evening gives potential students the chance to chat to staff and current students about the university’s postgraduate study options.

Wrexham Glyndwr University Recruitment Manager Claire Wright said: “Calling in to this postgraduate evening is not only a great way to find out more about our latest courses, but also an excellent chance to see some of our upgraded teaching and learning facilities.

“As part of our Campus 2025 estates renewal programme, we have invested in new teaching, learning and social spaces, including the Scale-Up space where the open evening is taking place.

“Whether you are looking to boost your career, broaden your knowledge, or even just to find out more about a subject that interests you, our academics are on hand to offer their advice.”

Staff from the University’s funding team will also be available to discuss funding options – including a recently-announced Welsh Government scheme which offers a £4,000 bursary for people aged 60+ living in Wales to study a master’s degree in Wales in 2019/20.

Glyndwr has a limited number of these places available which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

There is also a £2,000 bursary for students of any age living in Wales to study a master’s degree in any science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine (STEMM) subject. Again, a limited number of places are available – which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
