The annual Oswestry Community Games takes place on Sunday 11th June, in Cae Glas Park from 11am – 4pm. It promises to be yet another successful day with sport, music and dance from diverse local organisations providing free have a go sessions.

Organisers anticipate around 1000 people of all ages will attend. We particularly welcome newcomers McIntyre Lounge, Llanymynech Golf Club, Designs in Mind, NHS Health Bus and Llanymynech Juniors. The hope is that participants will try out a new activity and take it up afterwards.

We are delighted that Os Nosh will be providing our catering for the first time, Bartells will again provide the music, and Oswestry Border Counties School of Gymnastics our closing ceremony finale.  Our Ambassadors will include last year’s Commonwealth Games and will help us to make the Games run smoothly.

British trampoline gymnast Kat Driscoll – is this year’s Guest of Honour. World & European Champion and Team GB member at the 2012 Olympic Games, Kat said:-

”‘I feel honoured to have been asked to be involved with this amazing event and can’t wait to show my support for the Oswestry community, while at the same time supporting a great charity in the Stroke Association. The positive effects that the Games and the charity have on their communities are clear, and bringing them together will only benefit them more so.”

Many thanks go to our sponsors Oswestry Town Council, Oswestry BID, Oswestry Sports Forum for their financial support. Without them, the Games would not happen!
