Thousands of pumpkins are heading to Oswestry this October as Park Hall Countryside Experience prepares for the return of its annual Pumpkinfest.
3,500 pumpkins will arrive at the farm ready for families to choose, carve and take home during selected dates on October 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th, before running daily from October 23rd until November 1st 2026 during half term.
Every paying child can choose their own pumpkin from Park Hall’s huge indoor pumpkin shed before getting creative in the carving area. Best of all for parents, the pumpkin goes home, but the carving mess stays at Park Hall.
The pumpkins are just one part of the Halloween takeover. Pumpkin Alley, The Little Scare House and Spooky Trail will return, alongside singing pumpkins and family games including ‘pass the pumpkin’ and the ‘mummy wrap’.
Richard Powell, joint owner-director of Park Hall Countryside Experience, said, “Our pumpkin delivery is always an exciting one. Once they’re all lined up in the pumpkin shed, you definitely know autumn has arrived!
“Pumpkinfest has become a tradition for lots of local families. We know that younger children want to join in with Halloween without being frightened, so we keep things fun, silly and just spooky enough.
“Pumpkin carving is always a big attraction, and I suspect one of the highlights for parents is being able to walk away afterwards with no pumpkin seed mess at home to deal with!”
Pumpkinfest tickets also include access to the rest of Park Hall Countryside Experience, so families can make a full day of their visit.
Alongside the Halloween activities, visitors can meet the farm’s animals, watch the popular pig races, take a Big Blue Tractor Ride and explore outdoor attractions including the Crazy Farm Adventure Course, Woodland Adventure Play Area, zip wire and Burrow Land.
There is plenty undercover too, including Little Oswestry Role Play Village, sand and water play, brickworks, the Demon Drop Slide, sensory play for younger children, music and science areas, museums and sessions where you can meet the rabbits and guinea pigs.
Richard added, “October is a brilliant time to be on the farm. You can wrap up, get outside, see the animals and enjoy all the usual Park Hall activities, but with that extra bit of Halloween fun thrown in.
“We’re looking forward to seeing what our visitors create this year. With 3,500 pumpkins to get through, we’re expecting to see lots of brilliant creations.”
