Attendees at this week’s Oswestry Cancer Buddies drop-in were treated to an insightful talk by Kerry Coppen of At Rahanni Reflex, a local reflexologist based in Oswestry. Kerry offers reflexology as a gentle, complementary therapy for those seeking additional support alongside conventional cancer treatment.
Reflexology is increasingly used across the UK in cancer centres, outpatient units, and hospices to help ease the side effects of treatment.
“Reflexology can help lift your mood, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and ease fatigue—benefits that are especially valuable for anyone navigating the physical and emotional demands of cancer treatment,” said Kerry.
A 2009 review found that 62% of NHS cancer units offered reflexology as a supportive therapy. Studies consistently report high levels of patient satisfaction and no significant safety concerns, reinforcing reflexology’s reputation as a safe and calming option for people undergoing cancer care.
