New small-batch spirits brand from Ellesmere transforms surplus ingredients into purposeful drinks.

A new craft spirits brand created in the heart of North Shropshire is giving surplus ingredients a second chance, transforming them into beautifully crafted drinks with flavour, character and a story to tell.

Created by Emma and Gareth Glynn, founders of The Shropshire Distillery, RE:PURPOSE  was born from one simple question: what if ingredients that never made it to the table could still become something extraordinary?

Crafted in small batches at their distillery in Ellesmere, RE:PURPOSE combines traditional distilling expertise with creative thinking, turning overlooked ingredients into quality spirits that celebrate possibility over waste.

The launch collection features three unique spirits, each created from surplus produce that still had something special to offer.

The First Collection

Bread Spirit — Inspired by Whisky. Made from Bread.

Crafted using surplus rustic bread, RE:PURPOSE Bread Spirit transforms one of the most commonly wasted foods into something completely unexpected.

With creamy cereal notes, toasted warmth and a rich, smooth finish, it delivers whisky-inspired character while creating a category of its own. Not an imitation of whisky — something entirely new.

Citrus Vodka — Crafted from Surplus Lemons & Limes

Made using surplus lemons and limes, RE:PURPOSE Citrus Vodka captures the natural freshness and flavour of ingredients that deserved another chance.

Bright, clean and zesty with a smooth finish, it proves that surplus ingredients can create exceptional spirits without compromise.

Raspberry Vodka — Crafted from Surplus Raspberries

RE:PURPOSE Raspberry Vodka gives surplus raspberries a new beginning, creating a vibrant spirit full of natural berry character.

Smooth, fruit-forward and balanced, it celebrates the flavour and potential of ingredients too good to waste.

Made in Shropshire. Crafted with Purpose.

Set in Ellesmere in the beautiful North Shropshire countryside, RE:PURPOSE reflects the values at the heart of The Shropshire Distillery — craftsmanship, creativity and a passion for doing things differently.

Every spirit is distilled, developed and refined in small batches, bringing together traditional skills with a fresh approach to more sustainable spirits.

From the rescued ingredients inside the bottle to labels made using apple waste, every detail has been carefully considered.

A contribution from every bottle sold will also support food waste initiatives, helping champion a future where ingredients are valued from field to final pour.

From the Founders

“RE:PURPOSE started with a simple question: what if surplus ingredients could become something extraordinary?” says Gareth Glynn, Co-Founder .

“We kept seeing perfectly usable ingredients — bread that was too hard to eat but still had potential, citrus that didn’t make the cut, raspberries with nowhere to go — and felt there had to be another way.

“We didn’t want to just talk about waste. We wanted to create something positive from it.

“There is a bigger story behind every bottle — about where our food comes from, what gets overlooked and what happens when you see potential where others see waste.

“That’s the alchemy. That’s the purpose.”
