Up-and-coming young musicians across Shropshire were given the chance to formulate their own band when seasoned musicians Will and Dean Oram visited local Prep School, Moreton First.
Over 40 Year 3 pupils from Moreton First, St Martins School and Prestfelde School joined forces to develop their musical talent across a wide selection of instruments including; the drums, guitar, keyboards and vocals.
Inspired by English singer, songwriter, and musician George Ezra the students composed their own rendition of the popular tune ‘Shotgun’ under the guidance of Will and Dean who have experienced their own success in the music industry.
The experienced musicians have played and recorded for many named bands during their career and their music has featured on the radio numerous times. Will and Dean take their knowledge and experience as band players to schools around the county to show youngsters how to make that electric ‘band’ sound for themselves and to enhance children’s music creativity.
Amy Lott, Head of Music at Moreton First said, “The children have thoroughly enjoyed coming together making new friends and learning new skills before having the opportunity to perform in front of their peers at the end of the day. Will and Dean have been inspiring and we will certainly take forward the techniques we have learnt into our music lessons.”
