Therapy teams across the county are set to work more collaboratively as an exciting opportunity has arisen for two Rotational Physiotherapists, who will treat patients across the catchment area of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care System (ICS).

The two Physiotherapists will be based at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry but will provide care on a rotational basis to areas within the ICS. This includes The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH); Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT); and Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust (Shropcom).

The successful candidates will be motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapists, who are keen to develop their career.

The Therapy teams across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Integrated Care System (ICS) are one of the first in the country to provide rotational opportunities, through strong partnership working across the local health system.

Philip Hulse, Therapy Service Manager at RJAH, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time to be a Physiotherapist in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. These two new posts will provide the successful applicants with some fantastic learning and development opportunities, as well as a great deal of flexibility and variety in their jobs.

“Physiotherapists in the first few years’ post registration have long had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical experiences, what makes this different is that there will be experience of developing a skillset across four very different organisations – and all from one post.

“Successful applicants will be provided with supervision and support to work in tertiary, orthopaedic, community, mental health and acute hospital settings across the county. We know that this level of diversity within the job will be extremely desirable to many.

“I feel proud that as a local health system we are leading the way and providing such brilliant opportunities for Physiotherapists.”

Victoria Rankin, Executive Director of People for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ICS, said: “These rotational posts are a fantastic opportunity to care for patients across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ICS. They are an excellent example of partnership working and it’s brilliant to know colleagues within our local system are working together to the benefit of our communities and people, these posts provide great career development opportunities for our teams.”

The successful postholders will hold Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Registration, have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy, and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
