A renowned actor and director has put his name, and his voice, to an important documentary shining a light on suicide prevention awareness. The project will tell the tragic but true tale of how a young student took his own life whilst living away from home at University.
Ian Puleston-Davies, who is not only known for his roles in the likes of Coronation Street and Waterloo Road but also recently wrote and directed a BAFTA-nominated feature film, has signed on to narrate a documentary about the tragic loss of local teenager, Callum Jones.
“I am blown away to hear the talented Ian Puleston-Davies has agreed to lend his voice to this project”, admits Callum’s brave mother, Pam, a driving force behind the documentary, during what is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
Pam is deeply passionate about the upcoming documentary raising as much awareness as it can, so that other families might be spared from the unimaginable pain that hers has had to endure. “It means so much that Callum’s story will be told – in the hopes that we may help to prevent mental illness from taking any more loved ones too soon.”
Having a talent of Ian Puleston-Davies’ calibre attached will only raise the profile of this poignant and vital project, ensuring that the important message behind Callum’s story reaches an even wider audience. With other plans for the documentary also starting to take shape, what a fitting way this is to mark National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
