The British Ironwork Centre near Oswestry has unveiled its powerful new sculpture of Jesus Christ, Son of God, as the latest addition to its Ironworks Faith Zone.
Intricately detailed and crafted entirely from scrap and recycled metal, the striking sculpture is positioned on a huge cross and has been designed to be a truly thought-provoking piece.
The first sculpture unveiled within the Faith Zone was Lord Ganesha, with Jesus Christ now becoming the second installation. The British Ironwork Centre plans to continue developing the Faith Zone by creating representations of gods from across different religions.
The Christian faith centres on the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, worshipped alongside God the Father and the Holy Spirit, together commonly referred to as the Trinity.
Through the Faith Zone, The British Ironwork Centre aims to deliver a single, unifying message: that there is one human race. While people may follow different religions, the message reflects the belief that humanity is one and that individuals should care for and look after one another.
Clive Knowles, Chairman of The British Ironwork Centre, said:
“We’ve spent two years preparing and perfecting this sculpture of Jesus Christ, as we know it will matter tremendously to our surrounding communities and our visitors.”
