A young Oswestry resident has come up with an idea after spending time researching and developing during lockdown. 13 year old Ellie, a pupil at Oswestry School, has created the ‘Osw’rest’ry – Bringing the Spa to you’. The young lady came up with the idea with the understanding that with all the Covid restrictions, adults can’t go to the spa and children can’t have real sleepovers with their friends.

As a result, there are two fantastic boxes on offer. These will make a great gift box for Christmas if you are self-isolating and just can’t get to any shop. It’s certainly time saving and great value.

If you’re an adult in need of some TLC, then the ‘Spa in a Box’ is for you. Face, hands and feet are covered, and the box even includes a little snack. If you can set aside a couple of hours for an ‘at home’ pamper or if you know a lady who needs a treat, this will tick the box. It’s tricky being stuck in the house at the moment and with everyone in differing circumstances, so treats like this go a long way. The boxes range in price, depending what they are for, but the spa box can be purchased for £12.50. Very attainable I think you’ll agree.

The children’s packs, from £6 per pack are pitched as a sleepover spa pack which includes sweet snacks, nail polish and other pamper type treats. Great for teenagers for Facetime sleepovers and catch ups. There was even a Halloween themed box with a couple of creepy additions! These packs are aimed at ages up to 12 years, and from any age parents or guardians are happy with nail vanish and face masks.

When asked what her future plans are for the boxes, Ellie said, “I want to expand the range, keep your eyes peeled for adult men’s packs, homemade bath bombs and themes throughout the year.

“My main focus is to pursue an acting career, whilst getting all my qualifications but I am also keen on having a really successful business to fall back on!”

A very sensible plan indeed given that we are mostly muddling our way through life at the moment and having a back-up plan could mean anything is possible for the future.

There are pamper packs for girls, boys & ladies and Ellie can do men’s packs upon request.

“My Uncle was my first customer for the male pack and really enjoyed a pampering session, so everyone is catered for.” Ellie said.

Ellie and her mum Julia would like to give a special mention to Tim Gray who owns Dairi-Pak. Tim’s team have worked with Ellie to design the box and sponsored her first order of boxes. How lovely to see an established business helping a newly founded one and with such a young owner.

Ellie said, “I would also like to give a big thank you to everyone who has supported me to date and into the future.”

Delivery of the boxes are free within Oswestry and a 2 mile radius or via collection (lockdown rules dependent). Outside of those, there is a 50p charge per extra mile for delivery. All in all, still very reasonable.
