The LoyalFree app, in partnership with Oswestry BID has created a spooktacular new augmented reality trail which will be launching in Oswestry and running from the 14th of October until the 31st of October.

The trail tells the story of the forgetful witch Wanda and her feline familiar Wicca. Wicca is missing and to find her Wanda must create a potion – but Wanda’s potion cupboard is bare!

This free interactive activity invites participants to journey around the trail, checking in at each location to reveal and collect the potion ingredients. As participants follow the trail, scanning the QR codes at each spooky location, they will be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 3 vouchers for an Oswestry BID Business of your choice:

  • 1st – £50 Voucher
  • 2nd – £25 Voucher
  • 3rd – £10 Voucher

The more QR codes scanned, the more chances of winning!

The trail brings the story to life with a mixture of video and augmented reality. Participants can expect to see floating potion ingredients appear magically in front of them when using their smartphone camera!

Participants can also share their frightening photos on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and use the hashtag #LFHALLOWEENHUNT for a chance to be entered into an additional national competition to win a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Live Wireless Earphones.

Lindsey Pierce of Oswestry BID, said “The trail will be a fun and interactive way to discover some of the great businesses serving us all in town, and you may just way a fabulous prize at the end.”

LoyalFree’s Partnerships Manager, Sophie Carrick said ‘LoyalFree is thrilled to be rolling out our first augmented reality trail. The technology is cutting edge and offers a tremendous opportunity for local promotion. The trails are free of charge and represent a great free day out for families. We would love to see local residents and visitors enjoying the trail and discovering previously unknown businesses while exploring the area.
