A local support group for people with stomas has been praised for its work after it celebrated another year.

Around 34 members of Shropshire Bums on Tums (BOTs) enjoyed afternoon tea in The Orangery at Derwen College on the occasion of their 12th birthday on Thursday, June 8th.

Also helping them celebrate was Shropshire County Councillor Joyce Barrow, who is a great supporter of the group.  She was joined by Tom Russell, a Stoma care nurse from the Maelor Hospital in Wrexham; Paula Hilditch, also a Stoma care nurse from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Beth-Ann Porritt, cancer care co-ordinator from Cambrian Medical Centre in Oswestry.

Councillor Barrow said: “I am very proud to be a friend to the support group, which is totally voluntary.

“Thanks go to the staff at The Orangery who put on the most scrumptious tea.”
