It was another successful Open Day for the Shropshire B.O.T.s (Bums on tums) Stoma support group, with over 100 people attending during the day.
Irene Constable from the group said, “Although we advertised 12 suppliers would be there, in the end we had 15 plus Colostomy UK, the Ileostomy Association and the Urostomy Association, together with the popular BOTs Cafe.
“We were so pleased to welcome Councillors Joyce Barrow and John Price, who have been great supporters of the group for a number of years. We were also surprised by a visit from two members of Colostomy UK staff, Jacqui Rawson and Jo Mackenzie who came up from Reading to meet us.
“We gave out feedback forms and all were positive, many saying how helpful it had been to meet the manufacturers and see what new or different products they could offer. Diane Davies, a Stoma Care Nurse from Coloplast was available to see people in a private room to discuss any problems they might be experiencing.
“Grateful thanks go to Stan’s Superstore, St Martins for the supply of cups, Rod Stokes of Mereside Farm, Ellesmere for his delicious sausage rolls and Morrisons for donating a voucher for the raffle. All in all, a great day.”
The 2023 open day will take place on Thursday 5th October.
