Shoppers are getting even more chances to bag a bargain while making a difference at the Hope House Pop Up in Oswestry, thanks to its early success.

The Pop Up shop on English Walls has already opened across a few days in both February and March. It is based in the former Hope House children’s hospice store, which moved to a new superstore on Smithfield Street in 2024.

So far, the two Pop Up openings have raised £6,500 after selling 6,500 pre‑loved goodies at £1 each.

The next opening will run for 10 days from Thursday 23rd April to Saturday 2nd May, taking shoppers right through to the early May Bank Holiday weekend. Everything from fashion and homeware to books, toys and more will again be priced at just £1.

“Our Pop Up in Oswestry has been a roaring success in its first two openings,” said Retail Area Manager Mark Hunt‑Gittins.

“This has been a great new way for us to make the most of the donations we receive and offer pre‑loved fashion and other goodies at bargain prices.

“Traditionally, some of the items sold in the Pop Up would have gone to our recycling partner, where we receive a small payment per kilo. But we’ve been exploring more sustainable, community‑friendly solutions.

“This gives people the chance to pick up amazing deals while helping us reduce waste and extend the life of pre‑loved items.

“At the heart of everything we do is helping local children with life‑threatening conditions live their best life, and we’re committed to making the most of every donation.”

The Hope House Superstore will remain open as normal every day of the week, including during the Pop Up dates.

“We’re always well supported in Oswestry and know many people will want to donate. Unfortunately, the Pop Up can’t accept donations, so please continue to drop these at the superstore as usual,” added Mark.
