Over 5000 visitors flocked to The Berriew Show on Saturday to enjoy a very special day celebrating community and friendship.

At every turn there was a different experience to enjoy, from singer Adam Jones greeting people at the gate to Solo Circus and Nula Hula entertaining children in Village Green. Little British Rail with a miniature steam train enthralled the little ones while a 7m climbing wall kept older children happy. Andrew Logan’s travelling museum helped children make bracelets, and Hafren Foresters Archery Club saw 150 people try the sport.

A sheep show returned after a long break with a competition run by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and a magnificent display of over 100 vintage vehicles was a sight to behold.

Elsewhere, the dog and horse shows were full of competitive spirit and in the main ring champion BMX stunt rider Andrei Burton kept children and adults thoroughly entertained. A rare breeds parade, local vocalist Sarah Williams, the Sally Gartell School of dance, a host of family races and a huge parade of vintage tractors and motorcycles filled an action packed arena.

The competition marquee housed 1400 entries of horticulture, produce, craft, photography and art while 160 trade and craft stalls gave visitors plenty of opportunity to exercise retail therapy. Singers, handbell ringers and a harpist kept the crowds entertained while they enjoyed a meal chosen from one of a dozen food stalls.

As one visitor said, “A magical day! Lovely and friendly with just amazing people everywhere. Everything about the Berriew Show is just brilliant. See you all again next year. We cannot wait.”

A spokesperson for the show said, “The Berriew Show committee thank all our visitors, competitors, stallholders, exhibitors, sponsors, performers, suppliers and volunteers for an amazing event. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and are very grateful to each and every one of them. See you again on 29th August 2026!”
