At the beginning of the first lockdown, Crafty Knitters started knitting teddies for a garden display to keep children and adults entertained.  The Teddies were sold, raising £1.000 for  The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital.

Following this success, Crafty Knitters have now published a book of the teddies adventures, raising a further £500 for the RJAH. The first batch of books sold out quickly and the second print run is now ready to sell.

Crafty Knitters have also knitted NHS Teddies in PPE which are available to purchase for £5 each.

The second batch of Lockdown Books are also now available to purchase for £5 each. All proceeds will go to support the work of the Oswestry Rheumatology Association at the RJAH. The books are suitable for children and adults alike, with lots of photographs of the teddys travels.

Crafty knitters are a friendly group of ladies who knit for the community. They are always looking for more people to join them.

They can provide knitting wool, patterns, help and advice. Normally they meet up once a month but, during lockdown  knitting is taking place at home. The group can arrange to pick up any knitting and drop off knitting wool.
