Oswestry Ladies and Men’s second tennis teams are toasting success after gaining promotions in the Shropshire Tennis League.
After a tough season Oswestry Men’s Seconds won promotion, finishing top of division four of the Shropshire Men’s Tennis League.
Team captain David Clough says: “I am extremely proud of our team and what it has achieved over the years and look forward to playing in division three for the first time.”
Meanwhile Oswestry Ladies will move into Shropshire division two.
“I am immensely proud of the squad and what we have achieved,” comments team captain Clare Hann. “The ladies have shown commitment, team spirit and talent. More than anything they have played fairly and with ‘sportswomanship’. We promised ourselves we would give it our all, do it our way, and we did by supporting each other and more importantly, laughing together – a lot.”
