Spring is around the corner and nature is certainly well on its way to preparing for a new season. Spring flowers can be seen bursting their way through the cold ground and the sound of birdsongs are loud and clear. Soon we will see lambs and other baby animals starting their new lives and hibernating mammals emerging into the warmth of the sunshine. What isn’t as obvious to the eye are the busy bird nests which are a hive of activity. Many birds are busy building nests either in natural locations or within the ever-important nest boxes that we put for them, before breeding and laying eggs.
Here at CJ Wildlife we are lucky to have the benefit of an ‘eagle eye’ on several different bird species whilst they are going through this most important time in their lives with our live webcams. Witness the marvel of hatching eggs and the frequent feeding routines without disturbing the nest or even leaving your seat.
In addition to our current six year-round webcams which focus on the CJ Feeding Station, Mammal Box, Waterhole, Snack Bar, Bird Feeder and Fox Cam, this spring we are excited to bring you live streaming of 11 nesting webcams for Great Tits, Little Owls, Storks, Peregrine Falcons, Tawny Owls, Goshawks, Kingfishers, Spoonbills, House Martins, Starlings and Barn Owls! Keep checking in as more species may be added to this list during the season.
Last year the nest box cameras proved particularly popular with families, parents and teachers. Children are captivated by nature and the nest box cameras quite literally bring the nesting season to life and allow children a front row seat to the world hidden within the nest box. There was also huge interest on social media from people who are new to bird watching as well as the dedicated ornithologists and this year we hope they will be even more popular with our biggest range yet. There is always something going on, whether it is a Little Owl’s lunchtime feast, a new egg waiting to hatch, some adorable allopreening and fledgling tantrums!
Watch all the webcams via our website for 24/7 viewing and with some eggs already laid you won’t want to miss out! Each webcam page will also offer video highlights from throughout the breeding season. Visit https://www.birdfood.co.uk/cj-webcams
The action starts now so keep your eyes peeled.
