The New Saints FC and its supporters raised more than £1,000 for Hope House Children’s Hospices on the day of its Welsh Premier League title trophy lift.

A family fun day, held alongside TNS’s final home game of the season, featured a range of activities on and off the pitch and a bucket collection, with the proceeds being donated to support local children and families.

Supporters donated £580 on the day, with Chairman Mike Harris and the club generously rounding the total up to £1,074.

The fundraising follows further support from the club earlier this year, when a team of walkers from TNS took part in Hope House’s Llangollen Canal Walk in March.

Fundraiser at Hope House Ty Gobaith, Vicky Bradbeer said: “We are very grateful to TNS and their fans for raising money to help local children with life-threatening conditions and their families to live their best life.

“We rely heavily on support from our local community to raise the £10 million we need each year to be able to continue to provide specialist care and support to children with life-threatening conditions and their families across Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales.

“It was a brilliant day and great to see so many children enjoying themselves taking on the games, followed by seeing TNS win their last home game of the season and lifting the trophy.”

Simon O’Reilly, Facilities and Commercial Manager at TNS said: “We’re incredibly proud of the success of our charity fun day and delighted to have raised £1,074 for Hope House and Ty Gobaith.

“It was fantastic to see so many supporters, families and members of the local community come together to support this very deserving charity.

“Events like this show the power of football to make a positive difference, and we’d like to thank everyone who attended, donated and helped make the day such a memorable occasion.”
