Following the success of his first singalong evening, local author Tony Wright is bringing another fun-filled night of music, singing and dancing to Trefonen Village Hall this October.
After writing and publishing an amusing book about pop music from the 1950s and 1960s, Tony began giving talks to local groups, accompanied by snippets of some of the era’s best-known songs. He soon discovered just how enthusiastically audiences enjoyed singing along.
Inspired by the response, Tony organised a singalong evening at Trefonen Village Hall last December. The event proved a great success, with guests not only singing along to their favourite tunes but taking to the dance floor too. Following plenty of positive feedback, Tony decided it was time to do it all again.
The next Fun Singalong Night will take place at Trefonen Village Hall on Saturday 17 October, from 6.45pm until 10.30pm.
The evening will feature a carefully selected collection of records, primarily from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, chosen especially for their singalong appeal.
This is not karaoke – there is no pressure to perform. Everyone can simply join in with the singing, have a dance or sit back and enjoy the music. And for anyone who doesn’t know all the words, Tony’s advice is simple – just “la-la” along!
To help keep the cost of the evening as low as possible, food and drink will not be available at the venue, so guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
All profits from the event will go towards the upkeep of Trefonen Village Hall.
