Oswestry-based, Velozo Guitars, founded by master luthier Alessandro Velozo, has been awarded Musical Instrument Store of the Year 2025/26 by the Prestige Awards, a leading honour that recognises excellence among independent businesses across the UK.
The judging panel praised Velozo Guitars for its outstanding craftsmanship, personalised customer care, and authentic dedication to the art of instrument making. Competing against more than 15 high-calibre nominees, the business stood out as the strongest entrant in the category.

The Prestige Awards have been running for over 16 years under the Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms, recognising excellence at both national and international levels. In 2018, they introduced the Regional Awards to celebrate the achievements of smaller, independent businesses with a strong local impact.
All entries are shortlisted to a top five and evaluated by a panel of expert judges. Winners are selected based on a combination of submitted material and publicly sourced information, including customer reviews, testimonials, company values, services, branding, and the business’s online and social media presence.
As part of the award, Velozo Guitars will be featured in the upcoming Wales 2025/26 Prestige Awards Magazine and attended a special celebratory event at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, on 17 July 2025, alongside other award-winning businesses.
