On Sunday 1st of August, Whittington Castle hosted the Classics at the Castle car show to raise money for Hope House Children’s Hospice

With dozens of interesting and iconic classic cars parking around the Castle’s twelve acre site, the event, open to the public, saw a great turnout from the local community and fundraisers were delighted to raise a grand total of £3250 from visitors and classic car owners alike.

Lynsey Kilvert, fundraiser, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the organisers and to Whittington Castle for holding this superb event. Every pound that has been raised makes a huge difference in making sure we can be there for seriously ill local children and their families.

Staff at Whittington Castle were equally thrilled with the event’s success, and are greatly looking forward to the Cats at the Castle event on Sunday 22nd August, which will see Jaguar cars of all ages turn out for the public to see.

Castle Manager Sue Ellis said ‘‘Events like this play such an important part in our local community and we are delighted to have been able to raise fund for such a good cause. Our August event looks set to be  equally successful and we look forward to welcoming more enthusiasts to the castle grounds’’.
