General Manager Seb Siddi of the Wynnstay Hotel together with Executive Chef Gino Placentino and his kitchen team produced 50 hot and re-heatable 3-course Christmas meals on Christmas Eve in special boxes for Christmas Day from the hotel kitchens for Oswestry residents.
Seb Siddi for the hotel said, “It’s been a supreme effort by the kitchen. But we must thank our suppliers, Meat Masters Alan Clark for supplying several turkeys and E C Edwards for supplying vegetables to enable us, at this difficult time in our industry, to help our community”.
The meals were picked up and delivered by volunteers from the Food Bank to residents.
Liz Jermy from the Food Bank said, “We are grateful to the Wynnstay Hotel for this great contribution. We will be delivering many hundreds of meals as well as over 700 hampers to people in our area before the Big Day. Thank you to all our food providers, our own volunteers and Borderland Rotary for delivering. But most of all to all those people that filled the donation trollies in local supermarkets.”
The foodbank will re open on the 4th January at 11am. There will be a phone line available for food emergencies during the time of closure: 01691 671940 which will be listened to each day except Sundays.
