Young artists from across North Shropshire will have the chance to proudly showcase their creativity when Cygnets Fine Art School Oswestry holds its very first art exhibition later this month.
The special exhibition will take place on Saturday 22nd August as part of the Oswestry Memorial Hall Open Day, which is celebrating an impressive 120 years at the heart of the local community.
Throughout the past year, students at Cygnets, some as young as five, have been busy developing their artistic talents, learning new skills and techniques and experimenting with a variety of different mediums.
Their individual creations will now take centre stage in the Festival Suite at Oswestry Memorial Hall, which is also home to the Cygnets classroom.
Families, friends and visitors are warmly invited to view the exhibition between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, with refreshments and cupcakes also being served to mark the occasion.
The exhibition promises to be a particularly proud moment for the young artists whose work will be displayed, giving them an opportunity to share everything they have achieved during the year with family, friends and the wider Oswestry community.
Hélène and the Cygnets team said they are delighted to be holding their first exhibition and are looking forward to celebrating the hard work and creativity of all their students.
Cygnets will also have a presence downstairs at the Memorial Hall during the wider Open Day, which runs from 11am until 3pm.
The 120th anniversary celebrations will feature a packed programme of activities including family games, demonstrations, performances, an art trail and tours, displays, stalls, a café and a super prize tombola.
The event offers the perfect opportunity not only to discover the creativity of Oswestry’s next generation of artists, but also to explore the Memorial Hall and celebrate the important role it has played in the town since 1905.
