Budding business owners aged 16 to 30 are being invited to apply for a free market stall, and the chance to compete in a prestigious national competition.
Oswestry Market is launching a special Young Traders Market on Wednesday 10 June, giving the next generation of entrepreneurs a real-world platform to showcase their products and services, test their ideas in front of customers and gain hands-on trading experience.
Successful applicants will receive a designated stall space, public liability insurance cover, and dedicated support from the markets manager, all completely free of charge.
The event is also a gateway to national recognition. The winning trader could go forward to represent the town at the regional final on 27 June, with the top performers going on to compete for the NMTF Young Trader of the Year 2026 title.
Mayor of Oswestry, Cllr Jonathan Upton, said: “Our markets are a brilliant platform to test business ideas, get feedback from customers, and build confidence. We are excited to be offering this opportunity and keen to see lots of aspiring traders take part.”
Set in a hub of local goods, produce and entertainment, Oswestry Market offers a ready-made audience and a supportive community for new and emerging businesses to grow.
Applications for a free stall close on 2 June. To apply, email: davidclough@oswestry-tc.gov.uk
