The Annual Meeting of Electors will be held on Monday 29th April 2024 at 6pm -8pm at the Guildhall, Oswestry, SY11 1PZ.
This year, the meeting will focus on Safer Oswestry and, in particular:
- A local policing perspective;
- Violence against women and girls;
- Intensive Engagement with young people;
- Shoplifting and Town Centre Crime.
The Annual Town Meeting is a “meeting of the electorate” and provides the opportunity for individuals, groups and key partners to ask questions and to discuss important issues in our community.
The agenda reflects the work of the Police Partnership Panel and attendees will hear from:
- West Mercia Police
- TNS Football Foundation
- Shropshire Council, and
- Oswestry BID
The agenda also includes an open forum to provide the public with plenty of opportunities to ask questions on this particular issue and on any other issues affecting the town.
The Mayor of Oswestry, Councillor Olly Rose said “This is our fourth themed community meeting and a very important issue for many in our town. We will hear from a number of partners on a number of priority areas for the Town Council.”
“This meeting will allow residents and community groups the opportunity to hear from organisations and an opportunity to share what the issues are and to identify interventions and potential initiatives which will make our community a safer place. We want to focus on the key issues for local people and work together to support and develop new ideas to create a safer environment in our town.”
Residents, local organisations and stakeholders with an interest to join, share insights and support collaboration are invited to attend.
