Aches and pains were endured not only on the day but for several days after, by several members of staff from Ocean Telecom. They spent Father’s Day cycling 10 miles, hiking up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and canoeing across Llyn Padarn to raise funds for The Movement Centre, which is setup to help support children living with movement difficulties and their families.

Jeremy Rose, Ocean Telecom owner, said “It was a really tough challenge, with all of us suffering for a few days after the event, but was totally worthwhile as we were supporting the work that goes on at The Movement Centre.”

Ocean Telecom who has been trading in Oswestry for 26 years have been overwhelmed with the support received from their customers to raise funds for this worthwhile cause and have raised over £3,500 so far with donations still coming in.

Jeremy continued to say “When I met with the fundraiser at The Movement Centre, we discussed various challenges for us to take on, but I wanted something different than our previous, which was completing the Three Peak Challenge. This alternative triathlon was just the challenge for us.”

The Movement Centre now provide free therapy for children who have movement difficulties, and so support from local businesses such as Ocean Telecom has become even more important for them.

Curtis, Langley, Fundraiser at The Movement Centre had this to say. “Raising funds and awareness has become even more important for us over the last 6-8 months. When I met with Jeremy, he told me he wanted a challenge for the team, but I didn’t realise they were going to think this much outside the box. It was a great challenge for them to take on, and we can’t thank them enough for their kind support”
