Oswestry Town Council and SYA (Shropshire Youth Association) are inviting young people of Oswestry aged 11 – 17 years to the summer Youth Forum at Oswestry’s community kitchen and café ‘OsNosh’. This takes place on Friday, 4th August from 10.30am to 2.30pm at The Centre, Oak St, SY11 1LW and includes a free tasty lunch.

A wide range of activities are on offer in the garden and the café and there will be crafts too, including sign painting and knitting.

The main purpose of the day is to introduce young people to the local community project ‘OsNosh’ and learn about what they do and how they can be a part of its future. They will see how the garden has developed, plant their own section, and create a wildlife habitat. For those that aren’t green fingered, there will be opportunities to volunteer in the café area and / or take part in arts and crafts.

Young people can find out about the Youth Forum as part of the day, enjoy some hands-on experience at one of the town’s key community organisations, whilst helping to develop a youth garden and learning about local produce, the environment and how this benefits our community. If you have any gardening gloves, then please bring them, along with a waterproof coat and some sunscreen to cover all weathers!

Oswestry’s Youth Forum is part of the Town Council’s campaign to engage with young people of Oswestry and the wider area. The long-term aim of the Forum is to involve young people in Council decision-making, so they can help shape youth provision of the future.
