Oswestry woman Sue Jones, celebrated her 70th birthday last week and raised £320 for Oswestry’s Hope House Children’s Hospice, only made possible by the generosity of family and friends.

At her party last weekend, Sue asked for donations to Hope House in lieu of presents in celebration of this special birthday.

Sue today visited Hope House to hand over the cheque to grateful Hospice staff member Louise Isherwood.

“We are so lucky to have very special supporters like Sue” said Lynsey Kilvert Fundraiser at Hope House.   “Thanks to raising  monies in lieu of presents Sue is ensuring that seriously ill local children are getting the support they need, we cannot thank her enough”.

Sue said: “I really want to thank everyone for their good wishes, cards, flowers and donations, I have been completely overwhelmed and very grateful.  Special thanks must go to my lovely husband John, and children Kate, Richard and Peter for organising the celebration last Saturday night.  Also to grandchildren Amy and Riley “.
