Christmas crafters can get creative with foliage to make their own unique festive wreath at Derwen College, this month.

The specialist college, in Gobowen, near Oswestry, is hosting Wreath Making workshops on Wednesday, 29th November and 6th December from 4pm-7pm.

The workshops will be held during Derwen College’s late night opening evenings, where customers can also meet Santa and indulge in some Christmas shopping in on-site Young’s Farm Shop.

The wreaths will be made using the college garden centre’s natural Christmas trees and greenery. Customers can opt to buy plain wreaths or to decorate them with or without support from garden centre staff. Plain wreaths cost £12, while fully decorated wreaths are £18.

Land-based Studies Programme Co-ordinator Will Lyon will be on-hand to supply materials and support.

He said: “We are looking forward to hosting this festive event, and are hoping that customers will get into the Christmas spirit by creating their own individual DIY wreaths using the college’s own natural materials.”

Derwen College is running a whole host of Christmas events in its Garden Centre, farm shop, Orangery Restaurant and café. For more details visit www.derwen.ac.uk.
