Did you know that Age UK Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin runs a furniture shop in Oswestry ready to receive your donations?  They offer a free collection service.

Money raised helps fund our crucial Information & Advice Service which last year generated more than £3 million in additional benefits for local older people.

Rose Morris, manager of the Oswestry store, says it’s the warm welcome and the chance to have a natter that people enjoy most about a visit to the shop.

“People come here because they like the atmosphere… they come here for us. They might stay for a chat and we always have time for people.”

And Paula Hinks, Senior Charity Shop Manager, said: “Our customers say lovely things about the shop and how the volunteers here are good at giving helpful advice. They go out of their way to explain what we do, how we can help, and customers come back to us time and time again because we take our time.”

Age UK will collect suitable furniture donations for FREE, but you can drop off smaller items at the shops.  So if you’re moving house, redecorating, or involved in a house clearance, we’d love to hear from you.

We collect:

  • Sofas, beds and armchairs
  • Tables, chairs and units
  • Dining room and bedroom furniture
  • TVs and stereos
  • Small electrical items – we PAT test

The Oswestry shop is located at Mosaic House, Smithfield Street, Oswestry, SY11 2EG. Call the shop on 01691 238020. The store is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
