A new training aid has been added to the Oswestry Cambrian Rotary community project to get as many people as possible on the streets with basic lifesaving skills and able to carry out Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use a defibrillator.

Heartstart trainer Effie Cadwallader, a partner in the Cambrian Rotary project said: “Used alongside the training manikins, this new trainer AED will help us to deliver a much more realistic practical simulation of how to carry out CPR and use a defibrillator in an attempt to save the life of anyone in a state of collapse and not breathing. The training defibrillator is so lifelike that, once trained, people will have much more confidence about accessing and using a nearby defibrillator anywhere any time.”

If you have a group of people that would like to learn these basic lifesaving skills contact Mike Lade below to arrange free training 01691 650854.

Anyone considering volunteer work in the community can meet the group informally at The Wynnstay Hotel, Church Street, Oswestry on Thursdays at 7.30pm.
